Psychiatry

It is the most mysterious part of medicine. The brain protects itself from intruders, from the outside (and inside) world, in order to perform its complex and delicate functions, but in doing so it also makes it difficult for us to reach it.

But, in psychiatry, we also deal with the mind. This entelechy that has no physical body but is represented in every corner of the brain (and body). You cannot do an autopsy of the mind; it is not accessed with surgery. The mind is glimpsed, through behaviours, through which people relate about themselves, through the body.

Only a few decades ago, neuroscience began to give us more solid clues as to how the brain and the mind interconnect, feed, and, even more important, how the mind and the brain are nothing without the body that gives them Inputs and actuate the Outputs.
